Preface

Welcome!  This textbook is a work in progress that is designed to support the University of Florida course,  HUM3523 Music and Health.

My vision for this text was to create a text written by students for students.  The content has been written by undergraduate students at the University of Florida that have completed the Music and Health course and/or the Undergraduate Music in Medicine certificate.

In this text, we explore the intersection between music, psychology, cognition, human behavior, maintenance of musicians’ health and medical challenges of performing artists and composers.
