Style Guide & Examples

Images

Images should include alternative text, captions, and (if applicable) attribution with the source URL when uploaded to the Media library. Formatting can be challenging with the textboxes often overlapping the captions so they may need centering instead of a more traditional text wrap (right and left are both permitted). Also, save and view it before tweaking the formatting because the editor is not an accurate representation of the final presentation.

Multiple images can be grouped using the Add Media button on the page editor and the “Create gallery” action.  It is recommended that Gallery formatting is set for links to the Media File (default is Attachment), as 2 columns, and with at least a medium sizing. Captions also need to be formatted to match the single image ones (stupidly, by default, they are not italicized or left-justified, like single image captions). Add the following html code to the caption in the gallery (make sure the <em> is right next to the caption, without a space or line break, and padding may need to be increased to 40 or 60px for alignment, see last image):

<p style=”text-left;padding-left:20px”><em>Caption text</em></p>
